Our first Rescue Tales event was amazing, held in a wonderful yoga studio, RVN Wellness in Port Moody. The space was generously lent to us by the owner of Mena in the book. It was a happy chaos with dogs coming and going, we had dog accessories for sale by my daughter and her friends who did a fantastic job. Gift baskets, doggy bags and prizes were donated by Mr Pets, Bosleys and Three Dog bakery in Port Moody as well as human treats from Safeway in Burquitlam, what a great community we have!

We raised $350 for some of the rescue organizations from the dogs in the book but the truly amazing thing was making connections.

A volunteer from a rescue organization chatted with someone open to fostering and bam the next day that sweet foster dog Marty was with his new foster, in a safe place waiting for his forever home. This story warms my heart. The project is not just about selling books but finding your people, helping the dogs find their people and spreading a little love and hope.
